What the Capitec Bursary Covers
Successful applicants will receive funding for:

The bursary is awarded for one academic year and may be renewed annually based on performance and sponsor funding.
Work-Back Obligation
All bursary recipients must work for Capitec Bank for the same number of years they received funding. This ensures graduates gain workplace readiness and secure employment after completing their studies.
Who can apply for the Capitec Bursary 2026?
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Be a South African citizen with a valid 10-digit ID.
- Be completing Matric in 2025 or have matriculated in 2024.
- Be registered or intending to register as a full-time student at a DHET/CHE accredited university or institution.
- Be studying towards a Bachelor’s Degree or Honours (NQF Level 7 or higher).
- Achieve a minimum 65% average in Grade 12 (Bachelor’s pass).
- Achieve a minimum 65% average in the latest full academic year if already at tertiary level.
Excluded Programmes for Capitec Bursary 2026
The bursary does not cover:
- N4/5/6, Higher Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas
- Master’s or Doctoral degrees
- Students at TVET Colleges, UNISA, community colleges, or business schools

Applicants must submit certified copies of the following:
- South African ID document
- Matric certificate or most recent Grade 12 results
- Full tertiary academic record (if applicable)
- Latest official university fee statement
- Proof of household income (payslips or affidavits if unemployed)
- Parents/guardians’ ID or death certificates (if deceased)
- Documentation confirming NSFAS or other bursary funding, or affidavit if none received
