About the East London IDZ (ELIDZ)
The East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ SOC Ltd) is an area development authority aimed at industrial growth, skills development and economic transformation in the Eastern Cape. ELIDZ runs a bursary programme as part of its Corporate Social Investment (CSI), intending to build scarce skills in Mathematics, Science and Technology among learners in its region.

Eligibility Requirements for the East London IDZ Bursary
To be eligible, applicants in 2025 needed to meet all of these:
- South African citizen or naturalized citizen
- Resident of Eastern Cape, particularly townships or villages
- Aged between 16 and 25 years
- Must have completed Matric (NSC) or be currently in Matric
- Minimum of 60% in Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and an overall average of at least 60% for other subjects in Matric (June/November exams)
- Applied or be accepted (provisionally) for full-time undergraduate study in a Maths/Science/Technology-related field at a recognised South African university
- Financial need; disadvantaged learners prioritized
- Not currently receiving another bursary for the same study, and must maintain a minimum average (60%) yearly for renewal

Application steps (2025 round):
- Download and complete the official ELIDZ Bursary Application Form from their website.
- Attach certified documents: ID, Matric results (or latest if still in Matric), proof of acceptance or provisional university letter, proof of residence, proof of parent/guardian income, motivation letter, etc.
