Fields Covered by the AWF Bursary
This bursary supports these fields of study for the 2025 academic year:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science / Information Systems at University of Cape Town (UCT) or University of the Western Cape (UWC)
- Vocational Certificate (CBMT Phases 1–4) for Boilermaker / Fitter & Turner at Northlink College
Expenses Covered by the AWF Bursary
The bursary provides for the following:
- Tuition fees only (directly to the institution)
Eligibility Requirements for the AWF Bursary
Here’s what you need to qualify:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Under 30 years old
- Pursuing studies full-time: either a Master’s degree or a vocational certificate (first time for that qualification level)
- Enrolled (or accepted) at one of the approved institutions: UCT, UWC, or Northlink College (for the specified programmes)
- Prove financial need (household income etc.)
Also, being clean in your documentation (certified copies, academic record, etc.) and early submission are important. AWF will not accept late or incomplete applications.
