Investec, in partnership with StudyTrust, invites academically strong and financially needy Grade 12 learners and first-year tertiary students to apply for the 2026 Tertiary Bursary Programme, offering full funding for undergraduate degrees in Commerce, Engineering, IT, Science, Actuarial Science, Medicine, and related fields – complete with mentorship, psychosocial support, and work-readiness training.

Fields Covered

This bursary supports full-time undergraduate study in:

  • Actuarial Science*
  • Commerce (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Investments)
  • Business Science
  • Computer Science & IT
  • Engineering (various disciplines)
  • Science & Mathematics
  • Commercial LLB
  • MBChB (Medicine)

Actuarial Science only for first-year students (except UCT Business Science).

Expenses Covered

The bursary provides:

  • Full tuition, registration, and exam fees
  • Accommodation and meal allowances
  • Textbooks, stationery, and study materials
  • Laptop/computer allowance
  • Monthly living stipend
  • Psychosocial support, mentoring, and career readiness programmes (including a week‑long Work Readiness at Sandyton)

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens
  • Be in Grade 12 or first-year tertiary study in 2025
  • Hold a matric exemption with ≥ 70% in Mathematics (not Maths Lit) and ≥ 70% in English FAL (or ≥ 65% English HL); ≥ 60% in all other subjects 
  • Tertiary students: ≥ 60% semester average and ≥ 60% in each STEM subject 
  • Intend to study one of the eligible degrees at a recognised public university
  • Show financial need and academic potential

Apply online via StudyTrust’s portal from 1 May to 30 September 2025. Upload certified copies of:

  • Head-and-shoulders photo
  • South African ID document
  • Grade 11 mid-year or Matric exam results/certificate
  • First-semester results (for current students)
  • Proof of university acceptance or registration
  • Household income proof (payslips, affidavits, SASSA letters)
  • Death/divorce/death affidavits if applicable
