Eligibility Requirements for the BBD Bursary

To qualify, you must meet all of these:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric; or be enrolled / accepted for tertiary studies in one of the eligible IT fields
  • Have a minimum Matric average of 70% if you’re in Matric; if you’re already at university, a minimum tertiary academic average of 65%
  • A passion for software development, building projects etc. A portfolio or side projects help if you have them
  • Study or plan to study at a recognised/accredited South African university
