Eligibility Requirements for the Pyrotec Bursary

To qualify (2025 round), you needed to meet all of these criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • AA/EE candidate (Affirmative Action / Employment Equity).
  • Studying or intending to study in one of the eligible fields listed above.
  • Accepted into or already registered at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa.
  • Preference was given to first-year students with a minimum overall average of 70%.
  • Must submit required supporting documents: certified ID, Matric or highest education certificate, proof of registration/acceptance, proof of address if applying for transport allowances.

1. Can I apply if I’m already in my second or third year?+
Yes. Although first-years with 70% were preferred, other students could apply provided they meet eligibility criteria.
