The Schauenburg Education Trust invites Black South African students (especially Black women, Black youth under 35, and students with disabilities) in their 2nd–4th year of Electrical/Electronic Engineering or BCom (Business Admin/Management) at Gauteng universities to apply for its 2026 bursary programme designed to develop scarce skills.

About the Bursary Provider

Schauenburg Systems, a mine safety and communications equipment manufacturer, set up the Trust to fund tertiary students in commerce and engineering—bridging the skills gap and promoting socio-economic transformation in SA.

Fields Covered

Supported full-time undergraduate studies (2nd–4th year) in:

  • Electrical & Electronic Engineering (BEng or BSc)
  • Business Management & Business Administration (BCom)

Only at the University of Pretoria, University of Johannesburg, NWU Vanderbijlpark, or Wits.

Expenses Covered

The bursary may cover:

  • 100% of tuition, registration, and exam fees
  • Accommodation allowance (hostel-equivalent)
  • Textbooks, course materials, and living allowance

Payments are at the trustees’ discretion.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Black South African citizen (valid ID)
  • Entering 2nd–4th year in 2026 in eligible programmes at specified Gauteng universities
  • Good academic record: passed all registered courses to date
  • Not receiving any other bursary for 2026
  • Preference: Black women, youth under 35, and persons with disabilities.
