Fields Covered
The bursary covers studies in the following fields:
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Analytical Chemistry
- Mining Engineering
- Geology
- Occupational Health and Safety
- Jewellery Design and Manufacturing
- All listed fields for TVET colleges such as Boilermaking, Electrician, Welder, etc.
Expenses Covered
The bursary will cover:
- Full tuition and registration fees
- Residence or private accommodation allowance
- Books and meals
- Semester-based allowance where applicable
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be unemployed or currently employed in the mining and minerals sector (specific streams available)
- Must have completed Matric or be currently in Grade 12
- Must be studying or intend to study in one of the listed fields
- Must be enrolled at or accepted into a public university, TVET college or university of technology
