1. Who can apply for the Armscor Bursary?+
Any South African citizen who has completed Matric, meets the subject and level requirements for Mathematics, Physical Science, and English, and who plans to study full-time in one of the eligible fields in 2025.
2. What are the subject-level requirements?+
You need minimum Matric levels of about 5-7 in Mathematics, Physical Science, and English.
3. Does the bursary include accommodation and meals?+
Yes. Accommodation, meals, as well as prescribed books and living allowances are covered.
4. Must applicants come from previously disadvantaged backgrounds?+
Yes. Applicants from previously disadvantaged backgrounds are encouraged; it’s part of the eligibility criteria.
5. Is vacation work or practical experience included?+
Where possible, vacation work or similar experience with the defence industry is included.
6. What if I’m already studying?+
If you are already studying full-time in one of the eligible fields, you may apply, provided you meet the academic and subject level requirements.
7. Are late applications accepted?+
No. Applications received after 28 February 2025 will not be considered.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted after the closing date. If you do not hear back within a reasonable timeframe (often a few weeks), assume application was unsuccessful.

Yes. Recipients are generally expected to pursue careers in the defence industry and may be placed in Armscor’s Talent Development or graduate programmes.
