The bursary supports full-time undergraduate (2nd year onward) and postgraduate (up to Master’s level) study in:
- Accounting, Actuarial Science, Analytics, Commerce, Economics, Finance
- Computer & Data Science, Information Technology
- Engineering (all major disciplines)
- Investments, Mathematics, Statistics
- Behavioural Economics fields (e.g., Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociology)
Expenses Covered
This is a full-cost bursary including:
- Tuition and registration fees
- Accommodation (residence or capped private)
- Monthly living stipend
- Prescribed textbooks and study materials
- A laptop computer
- Medical aid
- Transport allowance (up to 4 trips home per year)
- Mentoring and psychological support services
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Have achieved ≥ 65% average in latest exams (e.g., June/mid-year results)
- Be registered or planning to register full-time in a qualifying undergraduate (2nd year onward) or postgraduate (up to Master’s) programme at a public SA university
- Demonstrate financial need
- Participate in psychometric evaluation and interview if shortlisted

- Create an account or log in to StudyTrust
- Complete the Standard Bank Group bursary application
- Upload certified copies of: SA ID, latest academic results (Matric/tertiary), proof of registration/admission, household income documentation

Obligation
Recipients are typically expected to work for Standard Bank after graduation if offered employment—ensuring mutual benefit.
