SASSA Payment Dates 2025 to 2026: Last Year’s Full Schedule

The 2025/26 financial year ran from April 2025 to March 2026 and is now closed. This archive keeps its payment dates for anyone checking an old deposit, settling a dispute with a bank, or preparing a SASSA query about a past month. For dates still to come, use the 2026/27 schedule instead.

Month by month, April 2025 to March 2026

Each line gives older persons, then disability, then children’s grants:

  • April 2025: 2, 3 and 4 April
  • May 2025: 6, 7 and 8 May
  • June 2025: 3, 4 and 5 June
  • July 2025: 2, 3 and 4 July
  • August 2025: 5, 6 and 7 August (confirmed by SAnews, 30 July 2025)

  • March 2026: 3, 4 and 5 March

A note on sourcing: SASSA published this calendar on its own website, which we could not open when we checked in October 2026. Two months are confirmed by government news reports, as marked. The other ten are the dates in circulation for SASSA’s calendar, and each one follows SASSA’s rules (no 1st of the month, no Mondays, no weekends, nothing straight after a holiday). Your bank statement is the final word on when your money arrived. Two months have their own pages: October 2025 and November 2025.

How 2026/27 differs from last year

  • Amounts. In 2025/26 older persons and disability grants paid R2,310 until September and R2,320 from October 2025. Since April 2026 they pay R2,400 all year. The child support grant went from R560 to R580.
  • Gaps between groups. Most 2025/26 months ran on three consecutive weekdays. In 2026/27 Easter split April 2026 into 2, 7 and 8 April, and October 2026 runs Friday 2, Monday 5 and Tuesday 6.
  • Review payments. The separate fourth pay day for people under review began part-way through 2025/26. In 2026/27 SASSA has announced it for some months, such as Friday 7 August 2026.
  • Access to cash. During 2025/26 grants could still be drawn with a gold card. In 2026/27 Postbank ended Post Office cash services (1 May 2026) and gold cards stopped working after 31 August 2026.

Checking a payment from the 2025/26 year

  1. Find the month above and note your grant group’s date.
  2. Ask your bank, or Postbank on 0800 53 54 55 if you were paid onto a SASSA card, for a statement covering that date and the week after.
  3. For the SRD, open the status results on srd.sassa.gov.za; each month from that year has its own outcome and pay day.
  4. If the money is not there, contact SASSA on 0800 60 10 11 with your ID and the statement. Our unpaid grant guide covers the next steps.

Be realistic about very old months: an SRD decline from 2025/26 is long past the 90-day appeal window, and a grant that went unclaimed for 90 days after approval may have lapsed. SASSA can still explain what happened on your file.
