Eligibility Requirements for the ISACA Scholarship

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be enrolled (or intend to enroll) in an undergraduate or postgraduate programme in one of the eligible tech/IT fields listed above.
  • Must identify as a member of an underrepresented group in IT (e.g. gender, race, disability, etc.) in many cases.
  • Free ISACA account required.
  • Some commitments post-award: attending an ISACA event, and periodic communication with ISACA about progress or career path over a period (often 2 years)

ISACA South Africa Chapter Scholarship Application 2025

You’ll need the following supporting documents (certified copies where required):

  • South African ID document or valid passport.
  • Proof of enrollment at a recognised South African tertiary institution.
  • Full academic record / transcripts.
  • Any proof of belonging to an underrepresented group, if required.
  • Willingness to engage in follow-up, post-scholarship activities (e.g. ISACA events, progress reporting).

3. Can postgraduate students apply?+
Yes. There are slots set aside for postgraduates (2 out of the total awards for South Africa) in the 2025 chapter scholarship.
4. When do the cycles happen?+
ISACA runs two main cycles in 2025: Cycle 1 (opens March, closes May), and Cycle 2 (opens September, closes October). The South Africa Chapter Scholarship followed this schedule.
5. What do I need to submit?+
Required documents include ID/passport, proof of enrolment, full academic transcript, and sometimes proof of belonging to underrepresented community.
6. Is there a membership or account requirement?+
Yes. You must have (or create) a free ISACA account in order to apply.
7. Are late applications accepted?+
No. For example, the 2025 application closed on 6 May and late submissions are not accepted.
8. When will I know if I’ve been awarded?+
For the 2025 chapter scholarships in South Africa, selection was done in June, and awardees were notified in July/August.

It includes ISACA student membership, mentorship, access to virtual conferences, possibly certification prep or events, and support to start ISACA Student Groups at institutions.
