Expenses Covered

SARF provides a partial bursary paid directly to your institution. The amount is determined by your financial need and SARF Council decisions—it’s intended to supplement other funding, not cover all study costs.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be South African or SADC citizens
  • Be studying an eligible programme at a recognised SA tertiary institution
  • Have passed semester 1 exams (National Diploma) or first-year exams (Degree)
  • Be endorsed by their academic authority
  • Preferably be enrolled full-time; part-time/distance considered
  • Prefer applicants at postgraduate level, but undergraduates may apply
  • Prefer employees of SARF member companies
  • Commit to working in the SA road transport sector post-study

  • Grade 11 year-end and Matric results
  • Most recent tertiary results
  • Proof of registration/endorsement letters
