350 SASSA Grant Status Check: Reading R350 and R370 Payout History

Scroll back far enough through an SRD payment record and the amount changes: older months paid R350, newer ones R370. That is expected. This page helps you match each month to the right amount, confirm what was actually paid for a particular month, and act if one month does not add up.

Which months should show R350 and which R370

The cut-off is 1 April 2024, when amended SRD regulations raised the grant by R20. Use this rule of thumb when you read your history:

  • Approved months up to March 2024: R350.
  • Approved months from April 2024: R370. The amount has stayed there since, and is funded at R370 until 31 March 2027.
  • May, June and July 2021: nothing. The grant had lapsed, and those months were never paid to anyone.
  • Declined months: nothing for that month, unless an appeal later succeeded. A successful appeal is back-paid for the month it covered.

The background to the change, and why nobody had to reapply for it, is on our page about the R350 to R370 switch.

Why a deposit date can sit in the “wrong” month

SASSA assesses and labels the SRD by grant month, but the money does not always land in that calendar month. SASSA can hold approved people back from a payment run for extra fraud checks and pay them in a later run. An appeal win can also bring a lump sum for an old month long after the fact. So a March 2024 grant paid in April 2024 can still correctly be R350. Match each deposit to the grant month it belongs to, not to the date it reached your account.

Confirming one month’s payout

  1. Open the official status page on srd.sassa.gov.za with the ID number and cellphone number you applied with. What the official page shows for each month is explained in our guide to the SRD status page.
  2. Find the month you are checking. An approved month with a pay day means SASSA processed a payment. An approved month with no pay day means it has not been processed yet.
  3. Compare that with your bank statement (for bank payments) or the SMS that told you where to collect (for cash). Look for a single SRD deposit of R350 or R370 near the pay day shown.
  4. Write the month, the outcome, the pay day and the amount received in one place. A simple list makes a dispute much easier to explain later.

If you have never used the status check before, the step-by-step status check takes you through it from the first screen.

When a month’s amount looks wrong

  • An April 2024 or later month paid only R350: first check that the deposit really belongs to that month and is not a late payment for an earlier one. If it does belong to a R370 month, report it to SASSA with your list of months and amounts.
  • Less than the full grant arrived: ask your bank whether it charged a fee or made a debit order deduction. SASSA pays the full amount; deductions you never agreed to should be reported to SASSA, and suspected fraud to the anti-corruption hotline on 0800 701 701.
  • Approved with a pay day, but no money at all: that is a missing payment, not an amount problem. Follow the steps for an unpaid SASSA grant.
  • Two payments for one month: tell SASSA. The 2024 regulations allow SASSA to recover irregular payments, so do not treat a duplicate as yours to keep.

SASSA’s call centre is 0800 60 10 11 (free, Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00), and SRD queries can go to SRD@sassa.gov.za. Give your ID number, the grant month and what you received, and never share your banking PIN.
